The Olympic Tennis Center is located in Marousi, approximately 11 km. from the center of Athens. Marousi is one of the best known suburbs of Athens and lures the citizens of Northeastern Attica with the many facilities and attractions it offers.
Stretching all the way to Sygrou forest, next to a real oasis of cool temperatures, Marousi is ideal to take a stroll along its roads. These roads host cultural treasures like the three museums that it boasts.
In the Natural History Museum of the Municipality of Amaroussion (Kiprion Agoniston & Kairi 2 Str, www.mfida.gr), the visitors have a chance to get acquainted with wild animals and get involved in environmental initiatives.
The Folk Museum (Dimitriou Ralli 13-15 Str.) is taking us back to the Modern Greek history. About 1.500 exhibits of the period 1850-1940 include traditional costumes, everyday objects, agricultural tools, furniture, documents and pictures.
Kastalias square (Vas. Sofias & Dimitriou Ralli Str.) is the home of the Spatharion Museum of Shadow Theatre (www.karagiozismuseum.gr), a place that can indulge you in the world of traditional Shadow Theatre. The figures of Karagiozis and the rest of the heroes of the cast, invite the visitors to experience an important part of our cultural heritage.
Our walking tours -in space and time- are supplemented by the famous bustling night life of the area, with restaurants and bars that compel Athenians to head North as often as possible.
